On May 14, 2020, the Province of Ontario made an announcement regarding the Framework for Reopening our Province. In light of that announcement, the Crowe’s Landing Wharf and the McCracken’s Landing Wharf will be open for public use as of Friday, May 15, 2020. Municipal staff will be removing the construction barrels and will be posting new signage on Friday, May 15, 2020.

The safety of the public is of paramount concern during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Township of Douro-Dummer is taking all steps necessary to ensure a safe environment for the public and staff. Residents and visitors must obey all regulations and public health guidelines when using the Municipal Wharfs. Physical distancing of a minimum of 2 metres (6 feet) is required and groups of five (5) or more persons is prohibited.

Please use safe boating practices and ensure that you are equipped with all necessary safety equipment prior to launching your boat. For information regarding safe boating practices, please visit the Canadian Safe Boating Council csbc.ca. Please note that dock and channel markers may be missing, use extreme caution travelling in these locations. If your boat is at a private marina, call in advance of your visit to ensure that they are ready to reopen and accept clients.

The Ontario Provincial Police will be enforcing Provincial directives within the Township, including misuse of outdoor amenities, physical distancing requirements and prohibitions against public gatherings. The public can report issues to the Peterborough County OPP non-emergency contact number: 1-888-310-1122.
