Open-Air Fire Bans to be Lifted on Saturday, May 16th, 2020 in the Townships of Douro-Dummer, Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, North Kawartha & Trent Lakes

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) will lift the current Restricted Fire Zone from the entire Fire Region of Ontario on Saturday, May 16th, 2020 at 00:01 hours (12:01 a.m.). The Townships of Douro-Dummer, Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, North Kawartha and Trent Lakes will also remove their respective open-air fire bans at that time.

The municipal open-air fire bans were originally implemented on April 3rd, 2020 in support of the MNRF declaration of a Restricted Fire Zone across the entire province.

Valid burn permits previously obtained will be re-instated. For information on open-air burning By-laws or to obtain a burn permit please contact your local municipality.
