Did you know that your kitchen scraps and compost can be dropped off at the Hall’s Glen Transfer Station or composted in your back yard? Both options help decrease the amount of waste going to landfill sites AND provide us with usable material to augment soil.
By removing organic waste from your curbside garbage, you are also helping to discourage wildlife like crows and raccoons from scavenging and leaving an unsightly and dangerous mess on the road.
For information on backyard composting, the Garbage to Garden program, or to purchase a composter/digester please call Peterborough County at 705-775-2737 or e-mail Peterborough County – Waste.
