The Township is seeking a Manager of Recreation Facilities (pdf – 10KB) who will, as part of the Management Team, be responsible for the efficient and effective planning, development, administration and budget management of the Parks and Recreation Department. In addition to managing the operation of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, parks and designated Township properties, this person will also be responsible for the promotion and development of leisure and recreation programs and services to meet the needs of the municipality.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of recreation related experience. Candidates with Ontario Recreation Facilities Association (ORFA) certification and working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, and ice making procedures and application will be preferred.

The individual will be expected to manage and oversee the work of others, while using initiative and good judgment in carrying out the duties of the position. The person must be flexible, adaptable and possess excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills. A proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously is a must. In addition to managing projects, this individual must possess the ability to think creatively to create and implement new programs or initiatives for the recreational facilities.

The person requires superior interpersonal and leadership skills and must act professionally in providing service to the public and as a representative of the municipality.

The present (2018) salary range for this position is $64,886.32 to $74,840.05 based on a 40 hour work week.
