Attention Voters and Candidates!

There is a municipal election in October this year and to allow easier accessibility for the electors, the Township will be using the internet and telephone voting method. This will allow you to vote from anywhere; the comfort of your home, while standing in line waiting for coffee or while away on holiday. More information will be available in the upcoming months, so please follow us on social media or monitor our website. Election Day is October 22, 2018.

Are you considering running as a candidate in the 2018 election? Nomination period commences on May 1, 2018. One major change to the Municipal Elections Act is that anyone wishing to run for office on a Council must submit the signatures of 25 voters supporting the nomination. The individuals providing the signatures will each have to sign a declaration stating that they were eligible to vote in the municipality on the day that they signed the endorsement.

Council for the Township of Douro-Dummer consists of 5 members: Mayor, Deputy-Mayor, Councillor at Large, Councillor for the Douro Ward and Councillor for the Dummer Ward.

Please continue to monitor the Township’s website for additional information for candidates and voters for the 2018 Municipal Election.
