Take notice that the Corporation of the Township of Douro-Dummer has initiated a Zoning By-Law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended. The amendment has been assigned file number R-04-18.
The purpose of this notice is to inform the public of the nature of the applications, invite public input, advise how to provide comments on the applications, and to advise the public of future notification and appeal rights.
Take notice that the County of Peterborough has requested that the Council of the Township of Douro-Dummer hold a Public Meeting regarding the above applications pursuant to the requirements of Section 51 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended. The Public Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday November 6, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at the Municipal Office, 894 South Street, Warsaw.
Please note that the County of Peterborough is the approval authority for Official Plan Amendments in the Township of Douro-Dummer; the Township of Douro-Dummer is the approval authority for Zoning By-Law Amendments.
The effect of the Official Plan Amendment will add second unit policies to the Local Component of the County Official Plan, specifically the Amendment contains a list of criteria that must be met in order for second units to be considered. Each of the four Local Component Townships (Asphodel-Norwood, Douro-Dummer, North Kawartha and Selwyn) are also amending their Zoning By-Laws to include provisions which will regulate second units within each municipality. Generally speaking, the Zoning By-Law Amendments will be amending the definitions, general provisions and Residential, Agricultural and Rural zones within each By-Law.
