The Peterborough Renovates Program and the Homeownership Assistance Loan Program are available as of April 3, 2017, in the City and County of Peterborough. The Housing Division is excited to be offering these two programs again, funded by the federal and provincial governments through the Investment in Affordable Housing Program. These programs are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible applicants. They will close on December 1, 2017, or sooner if funds are committed.
The Peterborough Renovates Program assists low to moderate income homeowners to afford necessary repairs, efficiency upgrades and accessibility modifications to their homes. The program offers a forgivable loan up to $25,000, up to $5,000 of which could be an accessibility grant. To apply, please contact Habitat for Humanity, the delivery agent for Peterborough Renovates.
The Homeownership Assistance Loan Program assists moderate income renters afford to purchase a home. The program offers a $15,000 loan for eligible renters for down payment assistance. Applications will be available online at www.peterborough.ca/housing and in-person at City Hall beginning April 3rd. To apply please contact the City’s Housing Division.
